How do I set up the Wizehire and Gusto integration?

Connect your Gusto payroll system to your Wizehire account and export new hires immediately.

How to Set Up and Use the Wizehire & Gusto Integration

The Wizehire and Gusto integration makes it easy to transfer new hires from Wizehire directly into your Gusto payroll system. With just a few clicks, you can eliminate manual data entry, reduce errors, and streamline your hiring and onboarding process.

Step 1: Connect Your Wizehire Account to Gusto

Before exporting new hires, you need to connect your Wizehire account to Gusto.

  1. Log in to Wizehire and go to Settings by clicking your company name in the main dashboard.

  2. Click the Integrations tab.

  3. Select "Connect your Gusto account."

  4. You’ll be redirected to Gusto’s authentication page.

  5. Log in with your Gusto credentials and authorize Wizehire to access your account.

  6. Once authorized, you’ll be redirected back to Wizehire, where you’ll see that your Gusto account is now connected.

Now you’re ready to export new hires!

Step 2: Export New Hires to Gusto

Scenario 1: Your New Hire is Not in the Hired Stage Yet

  1. Drag your new hire into the Hired stage in Wizehire.

  2. A pop-up window will appear—click Complete profile.

  3. From the Actions menu, select "Add to Gusto."

  4. Fill in any remaining required information.

  5. Click "Add to Gusto" to export the new hire to your Gusto payroll system.

Scenario 2: Your New Hire is Already in the Hired Stage

  1. Go to the Team page in Wizehire.

  2. Select the Job & Pay tab.

  3. Click "Add to payroll."

  4. Fill in any remaining required information.

  5. Click "Add to Gusto" to complete the export.

What Information is Sent to Gusto?

Wizehire automatically transfers the following details to Gusto:

  • First and last name

  • Email

  • Phone number

  • Location

  • Hire date

  • Salary

  • Employee type (W2 or contractor)

Step 3: Complete Onboarding in Gusto

Once your new hire is in Gusto, you’ll need to finalize their profile:

  1. Log in to Gusto and go to the Hiring tab.

  2. Find your new hire and click the three vertical dots in the Actions column.

  3. Select "Continue Setup."

  4. Review and complete any missing information.

  5. Click "Save & Continue."

  6. Follow the remaining onboarding steps in Gusto to fully set up your new employee.
